Adolescent Dual Diagnosis IOP

The Intensive Outpatient Programs at PBHS offer group therapy in a safe, supportive, and validating environment. Treatment provides patients with core skills to cope with life’s challenges and effectively manage mental health and addiction problems.

ADOLESCENT DUAL DIAGNOSIS INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM
 

The Adolescent Dual Diagnosis IOP is the only one of its kind within Lake County. This group is designed for the treatment of co-occurring mental health and substance abuse problems for those between the ages of 13-18 years old.  

CORE SKILLS INCLUDE:

  • Relapse Prevention Strategies

    • Avoiding and eliminating cues ​

    • Adaptive Denial

    • Building a Life Worth Living

    • Observing Urges

    • Alternate Rebellion

  • Mindfulness

    • Attention  and Concentration 

  • Distress Tolerance

  • Emotion Regulation and Crisis Management 

  • Interpersonal Effectiveness 

    • Relationships and Communication

  • Self-Management Skills

 

PRIMARY GOALS OF TREATMENT:

  • Decrease life-threatening behaviors

  • Increase effective coping skills

  • Create a sense of behavioral and emotional control

  • Achieve sobriety and maintaining abstinence

 

The program consists of 24 sessions over 8 weeks with rolling entry at any time.  Our adolescent program meets from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
